Natalie’s Pre-Apprenticeship Experience with Seymour Digital Marketing

Discovering My Interest in Marketing

My interest in marketing began a couple of years ago when I took a Sports and Event Marketing class at my high school. In that class, I was introduced to the basics of marketing, including how businesses promote events, create brand awareness, and engage with audiences in creative ways. I found myself intrigued by how marketing is all about communication, storytelling, and building relationships. From that point on, I knew I wanted to dive deeper into the world of marketing to see if it was something I could envision myself doing professionally.

Starting My Pre-Apprenticeship with Surry-Yadkin Works

When I learned about the pre-apprenticeship program offered by Surry-Yadkin Works, I immediately knew it was the perfect opportunity for me. The program allows high school students like myself to gain real job experience in various fields, including marketing. I signed up, eager to learn more and apply what I had studied in class to a real-world setting. My placement with Seymour Digital Marketing has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for the knowledge I’ve gained.

Seymour Digital Marketing: A Hands-On Learning Experience

At Seymour Digital Marketing, I’ve had the chance to work on a variety of marketing tasks. From helping with social media posts to learning about different marketing strategies, every day has been a new and exciting opportunity. I’ve come to realize that marketing is more than just promoting products or services—it’s about understanding people, their needs, and how to connect with them in meaningful ways. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that successful marketing requires both creativity and communication. It’s not just about coming up with ideas; it’s about delivering content that resonates with people.

Exploring Social Media Projects

One area I’ve particularly enjoyed is working on social media projects. I’ve had the opportunity to help create posts, brainstorm ideas, and see how businesses use platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and more to engage with their audience. I’ve been amazed at how businesses can use these platforms to share their stories and create connections with people all over the world. It’s been eye-opening to see the power of digital tools in shaping a brand’s identity and building relationships with customers.

Life Outside of Marketing: Sewing and Horseback Riding

While marketing has been a focus during my pre-apprenticeship, I also want to share a little about myself outside of school and work. In addition to my love for marketing, I have a passion for sewing. I work as a seamstress for a local store, where I get to use my creativity in a different way. Sewing allows me to bring ideas to life with fabric, and I enjoy the challenge of creating something from scratch. It’s a skill I’ve developed over time, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see a finished product that I’ve worked hard on.

Another activity I enjoy is horseback riding. There’s something peaceful about being out in nature, riding a horse, and feeling that sense of freedom. It’s a great way for me to relax and unwind, especially after a busy week. I also love spending time with my friends and family, whether it’s going out for dinner or just hanging out at home. These relationships are important to me, and they help keep me grounded and balanced in everything I do.

Looking Toward the Future: My Journey with Seymour Digital Marketing

As I continue to work with Seymour Digital Marketing and learn more about the industry, I’m excited to see where this experience will take me in the future. My pre-apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to explore marketing in a real-world setting, and I feel more confident than ever that this is a field I want to pursue. I’m grateful for the knowledge I’ve gained, the people I’ve met, and the skills I’ve developed along the way. Whatever path I choose, I know that this experience will play a significant role in shaping my future.
